Very few were ever made, Denmark received a good portion of them. The serial number on this one is 161. It was manufactured in England.
The serial number doesn't correlate to the number made. There are less than 100, more likely there are less than 50. This model and the UL715 were the only all-tube offerings in the 400/700 series. It is quite similar to a 5-watt version of the AC4. It's a fantastic amplifier with the original 10 Celestion speaker made for Vox.If you wish to find more information about the amp. This amplifier is featured on the Vox Showroom website and the photos are representative and accurate to this exact amp and its condition. There are interior photos of the same amp on that website as well.
The time has come to let this amplifier go. I feel it belongs with a collector. There probably isn't a finer example in existence. The power transformer can be set for use in Europe and the US.As it is original, I have declined to change the original British plug. This is how I received it. Original "Egg" tremolo footswitch included.
The tremolo and all functions of the amp work function as intended. I imagine the electrolytic cap(s) in the power supply will need to be replaced as it sounds like some AC is leaking, so there is minor hum. I won't do the work. As it is so close to stock, I'll let those choices be managed by the next owner. In this brief interim, it is being used to track on albums for other artists and sounds great.
