Victoria Jubilee head, withdrawn reverse type sterling silver sixpence dated 1887. This is the very rare JEB on truncation (not below the truncation) variety, ESC (Bull) 3267 R3. This was reputedly caused by the incorrect use of a half sovereign obverse die. This coin has lovely rainbow tones but with a bright spot on the obverse above the Queen's head.

This is NOT a piercing or plug. It looks as though a lump of grime has protected the coin below but has now disappeared.
