Many were ultimately lost to the earth buried in the battlefields with what few surviving examples making it home. In rarity this blade would be on par if not rarer than Vickers manufactured bayonets which was made late into the war having only caught the tail end of it. This bayonet in particular was had a extensive service history having went through the first world war and possibly the second with usage during the inter-war period between 1920 and the 1930s. It was made in December 1915 with refurbishment dates of 1917 and 1929.
Bluing is decent at approximate 60-70% as with remnants of dark green paint on the pommel. Grips are made of walnut which are in great condition considering its age of being 104 years old.
The Scabbard is a oil treated leather with a few small scuffs and dings from the many decades of use. The condition of the blade itself has little wear, however, along the spine it has what appears to be battle damage from another blade hitting hard into the steel.
