ROYAL FEZ MOROCCAN TAROT - 78 Cards MIB Rigel Press Ltd. Great Britain - Limited Edition 56/500. Great Britain - 1970 - Illustrator Michael Hobdell This pack is #56 of 500 limited edition copies of the original issue of The Royal Fez Moroccan Tarot published by Rigel Press.

The 78 cards are edged in gold/gilt. The Royal Fez Moroccan Tarot was conceived by Roland Berrill, founder of Mensa, in the late 1950's. Berrill commissioned the artist Michael Hobdell to do the artwork for this tarot. Hobdell died soon after completing the work.

Berrill commissioned a limited and numbered print run of the deck (500 decks) but died before having time to market the deck. These lay dormant until 1970 when Rigel Press, Ltd. Opened by adult collector but never used - large cards are in pristine condition and measure about 2 x 3.75.

Some light shelf/storage wear to sleeve as shown - some clear tape has been put on the bottom of the gold inner sleeve, shown in last photo. I inherited a very large collection of vintage tarot cards - these are not my area of expertise, so please ask any questions you may have regarding information I may have omitted.
