PCGS PR62 1846 GREAT BRITAIN Queen Victoria Pattern Copper Cent, VERY RARE! A VERY RARE Pattern, with flashy luster and hints of mint red remaining in the peripheries. Produced by silversmiths Marrian & Gausby of Birmingham, this type signified the first attempt in Great Britain to introduce a decimal currency system. In total, 5 denominations were produced, which include: 10, 5, 2 and 1 Cent pieces as well as a 1 Centum denomination.
While a simple enough concept, it would not take hold in any form until 1971, exactly 125 years later, when Britain finally "went decimal". 14 Days return if unsatisfied for any reason. All return requests must be made within 30 calendar days of customer receiving the merchandise.
