Likely struck in Holland, this satirical medal accuses Louis XIV and James II conspiring to end the life of William III. The obverse legend likens the conspirators to Herod and Pontius Pilate.

The 40 conspirators are depicted upon the reverse as well as the fleet assembled to foment further rebellion following the conclusion of the plot. A well-preserved example with lovely tone. NGC AU53 and the finest known example of only 2 pieces known to NGC.
