This rare medal from Great Britain depicts the 1696 assassination plot on William of Orange. The silver composition and 0.9 fineness make it a valuable addition to any collection.

Measuring at 43mm, this medal is a unique piece of history that is sure to impress. The Eimer-369 variety adds to its uniqueness and makes it a must-have for collectors of medals and exonumia. Likely struck in Holland, this satirical medal accuses Louis XIV and James II conspiring to end the life of William III. The obverse legend likens the conspirators to Herod and Pontius Pilate.

The 40 conspirators are depicted upon the reverse as well as the fleet assembled to foment further rebellion following the conclusion of the plot. A well-preserved example with lovely tone. NGC AU53 and the finest known example of only 2 pieces known to NGC.
