Matte proof coins were made for photographic purposes, as regular coins had weird reflections when taking pictures to publish the pictures of the newly issued coins. Thus issues of 1937, 1951 and 1953 exist as Matte Proof issues in very small numbers. Some sources quote 16 sets made, some quote 16 for the crown and fewer for the minor coins. NGC have graded this coin PF60 RB MATTE. The coin is beautiful and as struck with no hairlines - it is a mystery to us why this coin is not at least a 63-64 level.
