Extremely Rare Made in Great Britain Vintage North Face Dome Tent VE-24... This is truly rare did research and was informed the following information from former president of The North Face. After much research we decided that the optimum choice was to acquire an existing tent factory in Scotland and did so in 1983. The company was Blacks of Greenock which had made everything from outdoor tents to tents for Arab customers in the deserts of the middle east. Blacks had seen its sales slide for many years so wanted to sell the company. We picked up virtually none of their business but what we wanted most was their work force and the former work force that lived nearby (sewers, machine mechanics, fabric processing and testing skills) and their facilities with lots of sewing machines and equipment. The facility was in Port Glasgow, Scotland.

We commenced production there of all the products we made and added some local design people who helped better tailor some of our products to the local conditions. In fact the VE24 mentioned below became a VE25 in reality because we added one more strut above the entrance to protect from the heavier rainfall. FYI, the VE 24 was a description of the design concept (Vector Equilibrium) and the 24 was for 3 seasons, 4 poles. THE BAG, TENT BODY AND FLY LABELS ALL SAY MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN.

THE TAG INSIDE THE TENT BODY SAYS MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. THE FOOTPRINT IS A MODERN TNF MODEL.

This tent is in a 8.5 to 9 condition: minor soiling on the door and fly, small abrasion hole on the top of the fly, (Been sealed). The only real issue is the floor needs to be re coated, i will add a bottle of Tent Sure floor sealer into the sale. The old polyurethane is 99.9% removed and is ready to coat.. Fly undercoating is perfect no peeling or sticking no odors.

All zippers work screens and draw strings are perfect.. Comes with Original Stuff sack, poles (solid shock cords no cracks or repairs), Awning poles, pole bag, fly, tent body and black foam tent to fly separation donuts. Collectors don't pass this one up!
