Boar War queens south africa medal, duke of edinburghs own volunteers rifles. They were originally called the Cape Town Rifles. But on the 30th sept 1867 Prince Albert the duke of edinburgh visited cape town and they formed a guard of honour for him so he granted them the title Duke of Edinburgh Own Volunteer Rifles. The medal itself is not rare but the value lies in the scarcity of the regiment and the four clasps. The medal is in fine condition uncleaned with no damage with its original [slightly thread bare] ribbon.
