Antique WW1 Princess Mary Gift Fund Xmas 1914 Brass Tin-Rare 19 Leaves Variation

For condition please view High Definition photos. Empty of original contents (usually cigarettes) this original Princess Mary Gift Tin from 1914 is in wonderful condition. Intriguingly there are 19 pairs of leaves to the right of Princess Mary (18 to the left). This is a rare variation and the vast majority of these tins usually have 18 to both sides of Mary's head. This is one of the very originals, made from good brass, before demand outstripped supply and cheaper metal alloys became common.

Notable also is the full stop present after "Christmas 1914" which indicates this to be an early production. This has been polished thoroughly recently.
