Vintage Airplane United Airlines DC 6 Desk Model Museum Display Crate 1958 Rare

  

The model has a 19 1/2 (50 cm) wingspan & is made from a plastic type material. The model dates from around 1958. It has it's own custom crate made from wood. The model is mounted on a beige colored piece of wood, that is attached to another black piece of wood that works as a tray that slides into slots inside the green box, so the model is very secure.

The model has some scratches to the paint & the undercarriage under one wing has been re-glued & the nose landing gear is slightly bent forward & does not touch the wood. The wings droop very slightly because of the material it was made from. The propellers are glued to plexi glass disks which have become warped from age.

The crate with the model inside weighs 30 lbs, heavy! This is an old model, it looks old, it is not in brand new condition. It is unusual & probably a little restoration will improve it.
