SUPER RARE Original ENGLISH WWI RECRUITING PATRIOTIC POSTER, DATED 1914. DESCRIPTION: SUPER RARE WWI BRITISH RECRUITING POSTER as shown. But says it straight: "IN HER HOUR OF NEED YOUR COUNTRY CALLS FOR YOU". Published by the Parliamentary recruiting committee, in London. FANTASTIC EARLY WAR POSTER, DATED NOVEMBER 1918.

JUST 3 MONTHS AFTER THE START OF THE WAR. Think of the many British soldiers who responded to this poster, and then became casualties in the massive campaigns of the Somme, Verdun, etc.

Recruiting posters are among the rarest and most desirible posters available. AND VIRTUALLY UNHEARD TO FIND ONE DATED AND DATED SO EARLY IN THE WAR. Very patriotic and captures the COOPERATIVE "work together" spirit of the war effort. Generally these were pasted on walls, or put in a window.

This one was obviously not pasted and has no tack holes, so was obviously kept as souvenir all these years, accounting for its survival. Large size, measuring about 10" x 32".

In VERY decent condition overall for its age. A couple of small edge tears on the sides. Bottom and top edges are perfect.

Very clean and nice condition overall for such an important poster. The paper is crisp and not worn. Nice considering that these posters were never intended to last forever when printed. Over 100 YEARS OLD NOW!
