Includes Military Medal - For Bravery in the Field, Victory Trio 1914-15 Star, 1914-20 British War Medal issued to the successful conclusion WWI & 1919 Victory medal & finally The Memorial Plaque (inscribed John Henry Simms). Pte Simms was part of the 1st 500 members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and of this grouping only 15 Medals for bravery were ever issued.
Pte Simms #88 is the 4th lowest number ever recorded to have been issued a Medal for Bravery in the Field. In the complete history of the full NFLD Regiment there were only ever 108 MMs issued.
