1840 1d black, a horizontal pair from plate 2, l/t B. On a wrapper addressed to Dornoch being posted from Farr, Sutherland, bearing on reverse the FARR/S. The adhesives are neatly cancelled/tied by the black Maltese cross of Thurso and being dated on reverse for FE 25 1841. A rare multiple use of 1d blacks from the very north of Scotland.
