Original STEN spike Bayonet WW2 England Ultra Rare well marked & sheath & frog

  

This Ultra Rare Original Authentic English Commonwealth World War 2 made in the UK STEN spike bayonet is in excellent condition. Included are the original WW2 sheath scabbard No. 1 and the original very rare WW2 web frog hanger.

The web frog hanger has the removable pouch for a loader or back plate or other item of equipment. The back of the rare webbing is stamped "BAGCRAFT LTD 1944" "AA5508" with several Broad Arrows and what looks like a lightly stamped number "83" near one of the Broad Arrows. 4 scabbard is marked "S286" for the maker Vanden Plas Eng. The spike of the bayonet is stamped with a number "1".

The spring on top of the bayonet tube is stamped B. The bayonet tube body has many stampings. There is an "x", a Broad Arrow, an "L", "BJS Ltd N152", and an "S41" for Grundy (Teddington) Ltd. These bayonets marked with an "L" are believed to indicate Laspee Engineering Co. There is also, very tiny, almost microscopic stamped lettering at the top end of the spike welding, what appears under a 10x magnifying loop to read as 3 vertical letters "P N B" or "P N 8" or may be "P 14 B" or may be something else (see photo #5 for a close look).

There is no reference to this in any of the books or literature that I have on the STEN spike bayonet. NOW is your chance to own an original, authentic WW2 STEN bayonet, complete with rare accessories! There may be some cosmoline grease on the bayonet and/or the scabbard. This will be an OUTSTANDING addition to your collection.
